Rachel Daniel Campana, 91, died on Jan. 12, 2000, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville MA. A lifelong resident of Osterville, Mrs. Campana was a descendant of one of the first families to settle in the village.

She graduated from Barnstable High School and from the School of Fine Arts in Boston. Mrs. Campana was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville and a charter member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church Guild.

She was the wife of Anthony J. Campana, whom she married in 1932 and who died in 1974.

Surviving are her daughters Virginia C. Stimets and Gail C. Nightingale, both of Osterville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. Burial followed in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit MA.
