C.C.Rosenow(Christian Charles) was born in Germany and came to America as a young man. The family settled in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Her served in the Civil War in the 10th Wisconsin Battery.
He came to South Dakota following his discharge and hauled lumber from the end of the railroad in Luverne, MN to Lake County, South Dakota.
He married MaryAnn Keeler and the couple came to Wentworth, S.D. in the spring of 1879, along with their first 7 children. The youngest four children were born in South Dakota. In order of birth the children were; Mahlon, Jennie,Joseph E., Clara C.(Thomas), Laura(Klassy), Hattie(Ferguson), George, Ella(Heiser), Cora(Allison), Grace(Blakely) and Cora(Goldmann).
