Alexandra Marie Roetzer, 19, of Geneva passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004 at home surrounded by loving family and friends who helped support her through a long and courageous battle with cancer.
    Alex was born to Richard W. Roetzer adn Deborah J. (Collins) Roetzer May 23, 1984 in St. Charles, IL. She was a 2002 graduate of Batavia High School. She attended Northern Illinois University as well as Waubonsee Community College to study her passion in Biology. Her greatest desire was to graduate with a degree in Environmental Science adn spend a few years in the Peace Corps giving of herself and her knowledge in order to make life just a little better for someone else. She was an avid vegetarian and she loved animals.
    She is survived by her loving and caring parents, Richard and Katherine Roetzer of Geneva; her loving mother, Deborah Roetzer of Batavia; her brother and sister, Jesse and Lauren Parker of Geneva; her grandparents, William Roetzer of St. Charles, Joan Volair of Naperville, Thomas Collins of Florida and Robert and Arlen Bolton of California, Philip and Francis Scarim of Hoffman Estates. She is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins,the following for whom she had a special place in her heart: Jennifer (Rob) Siegel of CO, Michael (Judy) Hall of CO, Terri (Don) Couniham of Wheaton, Daniel Bolton of CA, Joshua (Miriam) Bolton of OR, David (Dennise) Bolton of OR, Sandy (Jenny) Scarim, Lou (Shiela) Scarim and Phil Scarim.
    She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Colin Roetzer; grandmother, Priscilla Roetzer; and aunt, Marlene Roetzer.
    Visitation will be Monday, May 24, 2004 from 3 to 7 PM at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Rt. 38) Geneva. Followed immediately by Buddhist ceremony. Interment is private.
    Memorials may be made to Fox Valley Hospice, 200 Whitfield Dr., Geneva, IL, 60134.

Gravesite Details

Alexandra requested cremation and that her ashes be spread in Stephens Grove in the big redwoods of California.
