Kathleen enjoyed crosswords in the daily newspapers, taking a drive in the car, and gardening. She was a church secretary and attended Sunday school groups. She also enjoyed social activities at the church.
Mrs. Shaw married Leonard Victor "John" Shaw in Whitburn, Durham, England. She was trained as a physical education teacher but stopped teaching when her own children were born. She kept busy organizing and doing many other household chores until her untimely death at the age of 52.
A brother preceded her in death during the war years and then her younger sister in the 1960's.
