Funeral services were held for Joseph Franz Zumbragel, age 52, on Thursday, August 11, at 9 o'clock from the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. A rosary was recited Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Needville Chapel, with Father Gilbert Pekar officiating.
Mr. Zumbragel passed away at his home August 9. He came here at the age of 30 years from Germany, his birthplace. He had no known living relatives in the country, but he had many friends. His two closest friends were Mrs. Lydia Lowery and Raymond Hackstedt, both of Needville.
Pallbearers were Dick Bartels, Frank Charanza, Paul Deml, Louis Kocurek, Slim Barta, Eddie Bezecny. Father Pekar officiated at the church and also at the St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery where interment was made. Garmany-Janca Funeral Home had charge of the service.
