Funeral services for Ida Elizabeth Bauer, 82, of Nampa who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1989 at the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. David Schmidt of the Nampa Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mrs. Bauer was born Sept. 14, 1907, at Russell, Kan. At a young age she moved with her family to Scotts Bluff, Neb. where she was reared and educated. She married Adam Bauer in 1925 at Scotts Bluff. In 1949 they moved to Nampa where they farmed for four years. Ida became a beautician in 1954 and opened Ida's Beauty Shop in 1957. She retired in 1972. Mr. Bauer died June 11, 1978. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Bauer of Homedale; a daughter Joyce (Mrs. Earl) McGrew of Vancouver, Wash.; four brothers, Melvin, Earnest and Vernon, all of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gordon of Taft, Calif.; a sister Linda Short of Colfax, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and a sister. Friends may call from 7 until 9 p.m. today and Thursday from 8 until 9 a.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
