ORLANDO, Florida -- Marcia A. (Treinen) Steel, 49, died April 2, 2012, after a battle with cancer.
She enrolled in the US Navy on Oc. 24, 1984. She retired as Chief Navy Counselor aboard the USS Midway in San Diego California, on Oct.13, 2006, after 21 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Dorothy (Koester)Treinen, formerly of McCook.

Survivors include her daughter, Mariel Steele of Tallahassee, Florida; twin brother, Mark Treinen and wife, Joni of Lincoln Nebraska, Mike Treinen and wife, Deb of College Station Texas, Don Treinen and wife, Sherry of Kearney Nebraska; sisters, Barb Kent and husband, Jim, JoAnn Decker and husband, Jim, both from Benkelman Nebraska, and Kathy Knepp and husband, Danny of Scottsbluff; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A celebration of life with military honors is April 21, 2012, 2 p.m. MT at The Old City Hall in Sterling Colorado. Burial of ashes will be at a later date
