Jose P. Gonzalez of Cotulla entered into rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 88 years. Jose was born in Cotulla, Texas on March 1, 1920 to Pedro and Maria Antonio Perez Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lidia in 2007, a son Reynaldo and a daughter Lydia Nuno. Survivors include his son, Jose M. Gonzalez of San Antonio; daughters, Maria Villasenor, Juanita Arenas, Josefina Garcia, Yolanda Lopez all of Illinois and Donna Carrasco of McDonna, Texas; brothers Octavio Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez and Luis Antonio Gonzalez all of Cotulla and Pedro Gonzalez of Illinois; sisters Dominda Cardona of Natalia, Anita Marines of Big Wells, Amada Becerra of Illinois, Victoria Rubio of Houston and Rosa Flores of McDonna; 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited Sunday, March 30,2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Peters Funeral Home. Mass was recited Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cotulla. Interment followed in the Cotulla East Cemetery. Pallbearers were Amado Rubio, Fernando Gonzalez, Moses Arenas, Jose R. Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Joe R. Gonzalez, IV. Arrangements under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
