DAKOTA-Oscar Martin Herbig, a Rock Run Township farmer, died suddenly about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at his farm home after a heart attack, He was born Nov. 9, 1898, in Freeport, the son of August and Anna Fernau Herbig. He married Blanche Smith June 3, 1936, in Ridott. Herbig was a member of Ridott Evangelical United Brethren Church. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Miss Anna Mae Herbig, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Chris (Alta) Bertram of Cedarville, Miss Mabel Herbig and Mrs,. Karl (Florence) Kerr, both of Freeport. A son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Service will be held -at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Ridott EUB Church, Rev. Morris R. Catron, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport. Friends
may call at the Myers Funeral Home, Dakota, from noon Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday and then at the church. A short prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. There will be no viewing of the body after the service at the church.
