Conrad was born in Norka, Russia to Johannes & Christina Marie Albrecht. He married Anna Elisabeth Derr in 1895. They immigrated to Stony Plain, Alberta in 1900 and started farming just west of the 5th Meridian. From this union came 14 children, which 2 died in infancy.
