Emil Dwerlkott, 86, died June 13, 1996, at
Cambridge Place Nursing home, Marysville,
Kansas.
He was born August 1, 1909, on a farm
north of Marysville, KS, the son of August
Herman and Mary Elizabeth Wassenberg-
Dwerlkotte.
He graduated from St. Gregory Catholic
School ahd was in the Army Air Corps from
1942 to 1945, as an aircraft machinist.
After the service, he worked custom
combining. He went to work for Pepsi Cola
and retired after 38 years.
He married Alma E. Wessel on May 27, 1947,
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Baileyville, KS. She survives.
He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic
church and the American Legion Post #163,
both of Marysville.
Besides his wife, Alma, he is survived by
daughter, Kathy Bennetch, Lincoln, NE.; son
Gary Dwerlkott, Bremen, KS; sister, Clara
Pierce, Fort Wayne, IN.; Ida Lachowsky,
Columbus, OH.; Helen Blackburn, Dayton,
OH.; four grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
brothers, Gregory Dwerlkott on August 1,
1914; and Sylvester Dwerlkott on January
7, 1968.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John
Catholic church, Hanover, KS. Burial was
in St. Gregory Cemetery, Marysville, KS.
