Death Claims Frank K. Sitz
Frank K. Sitz, 87, 530 South Sixth Street, died at 11 p.m. Monday after a long illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Gadsden, Mr. Sitz was the son of the late Jerry and Eliza Barnes Sitz, members of a prominent pioneer family of the Fairview community.
He was a retired traveling salesman, and a former hardware store merchant of Gadsden. Mr. Sitz was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was one of the oldest living Shriners in Gadsden, a Mason and a member of Knights Templar.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Smith Sitz; one son, Frank Sitz, Jr., Rome, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Avery Jacks, Birmingham, and Mrs. Harry Quinlan, East Point, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Vista Jones and Miss Jean Sitz, both of Austin, Tex., and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were to be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Forrest Cemetery, with the Rev. Howard Cameron officiating.
Collier-Butler Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
