Charleston - Regina H. "Jean" Halter, 74 years old, died Tuesday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Charleston, the daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Schuette Chambers Sr. She and Martin Halter were married Jun. 2, 1940.
She retired from the office of Brown Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church, Charleston Country Club and was currently president of Charleston Ladies Golf Association.
Survivors include her husband; a son Gary Halter; a daughter, Carol Calvin; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, two sisters and three half brothers.
Funeral mass will be held Friday at St. Henry's Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
