Funeral services for Richard Dietrich Holscher 77, will be conducted by Reverend O. J. Wending, pastor of Mt. Olive Lutheran church of Forest Grove, Saturday June 18, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Forest Grove Undertaking company.

Mr. Holscher was born August 19, 1877, in Hannouse, Germany and died June 14 at Tuality Community hospital. He came to the United States with his brother when he was 16 years old and settled in New York state and later resided in Newark, N. J. He came to Oregon in young manhood and settled in the Watts community. After working on farms he was able to buy his own farm and until late years he was engaged in farming and fruit raising in this same community.

In 1908 he was united in marriage to Nancy Ellen McCoy at Forest Grove. Mrs. Holscher preceded him in death by one month to the day. To this union were born 2 sons and 3 daughters who survive: Howard R. and William H. Holscher, Forest Grove; Mrs. Evelyn Land, Portland; Mrs. Ethel Thompson and Mrs. Irene Stanley, Forest Grove. Twelve grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Grill of Newark, N.J., also survive. Mr. Holscher was baptized in the Lutheran church in Germany as a child.
