"The Sentinel" Newspaper, Nacogdoches County, Texas Philipp Teutsch was riding in a buggy from Nacogdoches to Melrose on a business trip with Mr. F.P. West on Monday, September 25, 1904 when Mr. Teutsch pressed his hand against his breast and exclaimed that a severe pain had struck him, the last spoken by Philipp Teutsch and in a few seconds, he was dead! Philipp Teutsch was a blacksmith and ran a little shop in Melrose. He was popular and beloved by the people of Melrose. Philipp Teutsch lived in Melrose about 8 years. Laid to rest in the Mast Family Cemetery Nacogdoches County Texas
