MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Judith Irene Petersen, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Saturday, February 11, 2006, at her home.
Funeral Mass February 15, at St. Mathias Catholic Church, 215 W Eighth St., Muscatine. The Reverend Jason Crossen of Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish will officiate. Honorary bearers will be Ryan Jenkins and Michael Jenkins. Casket bearers will be Scott Petersen, Donnie Petersen, Patrick Meyer, Steve Meyer, Martin Paul, and George Townsley.
Burial will be in Parr Cemetery.
Visitation at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
Judith was born on August 20, 1945, in Davenport, the daughter of Ralph Edward and Ruth Irene(Ryan) Jenkins.
She married Robert E. Petersen on March 20, 1965, in Muscatine.
She worked and volunteered at Muscatine General Hospital and also owned and operated the Rib Eye Restaurant in Durant, Iowa.
She was a member of the St. Mathias Church. Judith loved her grandchildren, gardening, her dogs, and camping.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Petersen, of Muscatine;
two sons, Jeffrey Petersen and wife, Darcy, of Muscatine, Joe Petersen and wife, Jennifer, of Muscatine;
two daughters,
Rebecca Hoins and husband, Frank, of Denver, Colo., and Angela Lilienthal and husband, Grant, of Durant;
nine grandchildren, Bailey Petersen, Dalton, Madison and Nicholas Petersen, John and Benjamin Hoins, and Hannah, Drew, and Curtis Lilienthal;
one brother, John R. Jenkins and wife, Marcia, of Muscatine;
and one sister, Kathy Meyer and husband, Larry, of Muscatine.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents
and one sister, Cathrine Jenkins, in infancy..
