Leslie Bauer Craigmile Jr., of Springfield died May 16 of bone cancer. He was 77.

Leslie was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Portland to Leslie Craigmile Sr., and Kathryn Stumacher Craigmile.

He graduated from St. Mary Academy in Portland. He served in the Maritime Service during World War II.

He lived in this area for 38 years.

He worked for the City of Springfield until his retirement in 1990. He then established Contructniques Etc.

He was an honorary member of the Oregon State Sheriff Association and he served as an emergency medical technician and American Red Cross instructor. He was a member of a Moose Lodge and was involved with Operation Christmas Basket. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Boarding School in Portland, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

He was an accomplished musician and he enjoyed building model boats and airplanes. He especially enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Myers of Springfield and Penny Burgess of Fruitland, Idaho; a son, Andy; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A son, Michael, died previously.

Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
