Benton John Brightwell, 18 days old, died Monday, June 9, 1997, in Trenton, Michigan. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of John Daniel and Christina Sprouse Brightwell.
Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Jacob Taylor Sprouse of the home; paternal grandparents Dan and Ruthann Brightwell of Louisville, Ky., maternal grandparents Donald and Ruby Sprouse of Brevard; paternal great-grandmother M. Virginia Brightwell of Louisville; and maternal great-grandmother Helen Rogers of Brevard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. on Friday, June 13, at New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Sitton and Rev. Pete Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Cathey's Creek Cemetery.
