The daughter of Laurent and Florence Hill Lavielle, D'Vera was born on April 5, 1920 in the small community of Huntsville, Reno County, Kansas. In 1938, she graduated from Sylvia (KS) High School and moved from that town to Hutchinson (KS) in 2002. Her obituary, published in the Stafford (KS) Courier, Wed., Sept. 22, 2004, stated that she was a homemaker, farmer and former member of the Zenith Presbyterian Church. She was survived by her husband whom she married July 14, 1939 in Sylvia. Other survivors included a son, daughter, two sisters and two grandchildren. Two sisters, Loren Catren and Eva Broker preceded her in death. The Rev. Robert B. Brooks officiated at her funeral which was Wednesday, September 22 at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Designated memorials included the Zenith Community Passion Play or Kansas Hospice.
