Victor Gustafsson Westenburg, son of Nils Gustaf Petersson Westenburg and Anna Maria Johansdotter was born August 17, 1853 in Sweden and died March 29, 1917 in Page County, Iowa.

Victor Westenburg died at his home in Douglas Township, Thursday, May 29, 1917, of pneumonia. He was born in Sweden August 17, 1854 and came to America in 1868, settling first in the state of Illinois. Ten years later, in 1878, he came to Iowa, locating in Douglas Township, Page County, which was his home at the time of his death. He was married in March 1894 to Miss Hannah Johnson, at Red Oak, Iowa. To this union there were born eight children, all of whom are living, as follows; Rudolph, Edna, Orpha, Arnold, Bert, Roy, Raymond, and Glenn, the latter being three years old, also by two brothers and one sister, John Westenburg of Louisiana and Peter Westenburg of Shenandoah, and Eva Westenburg, who lived in Sweden. Mrs. Westenburg died three years ago. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in the Lutheran Church at Nyman, conducted by Rev. N. A. Bloomstrand. Interment in the Nyman Cemetery. The late Mr. Westenburg accumulated 400 acres of land in the northwestern part of Douglas Township and the children will be left well provided for. He was a quiet and industrious and highly respected by his neighbors.
