Funeral for Carl W. Nienaber, 86, of Chestnut Street, will be conducted by Myers Funeral Service at 1 p.m. thursday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Eldon L. Brandt officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Extending His Kingdom Fund at St. Peters Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
Nienaber died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
He was a retired farmer.
Born Nov. 19, 1903, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of George and Matilda Boese Nienaber. He married Ada Scheible on Sept. 27, 1924. She died Sept. 25, 1982.
Surviving are sons, Norval and Carl William Nienaber Jr., both of Columbus; daughters, Annabeth Moore of Indianapolis and Carolyn Sue Nienaber of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Esther,Ault and Adelia Hoskins.
