Peter Olsen, 81, died Saturday night at his home in Central following a month's illness.

Mr. Olsen was born May 22, 1859, Nykoben, Falster, Denmark, a son of Hans and Kisten Rasmussen Olsen. He was one of a family of seven children.

He left his native land on June 19, 1876 and came to Richfield on July 24, 1876. One brother and his father and mother also came to Utah.

He married Elsie M. Jensen in Richfield on February 21, 1883, and they resided at Richfield for 13 years before moving to Central, where Mr. Olsen engaged in farming until three years ago.

Surviving are his widow; two sons and one daughter Walter and Frands Olsen of Central and Mrs. Elsie Despain of Venice; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Warner Mortuary chapel at Richfield, with Bishop Leland S. Gray of the Central ward conducting. Bishop Alex Jensen of the Richfield Third ward and Wm. A. Seegmiller of Richfield were speakers, Bishop Jensen telling' of Mr. Olsen's pioneer activities and Mr. Seegmiller giving stress to his honesty. Closing remarks were made by Bishop Gray. A double quartet from Central, composed of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Heber J Christiansen and Mrs. Scott Hawley, with Mrs. Conrad Hansen as accompanist, and Mrs. Hawley as Soloist, sang "Jesus Lover Of My Soul", and "Bury Me Near The Old Home". Mrs. C.P. Anderson sang "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine". The invocation was by G.A. Staples of Central, and the benediction by Delbert Ence of Central. L.P. Hansen dedicated the grave interment being in the Richfield Cemetery.

Palbearers were Farrel Olsen, Lavar Despain, Henry J. Bates and Conrad Cowley.
