Obituary from the Chaska Weekly Valley Herald newspaper dated Thursday, March 24, 1955:

Many relatives and friends attended the funeral services for Mrs. Harry Heitkamp at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver, Saturday, March 5.

Mrs. Heitkamp succumbed following an operation at the University hospital in Minneapolis, Wednesday afternoon, March 2. Last spring she was hospitalized for seven weeks for treatment of cancer.

She was born Margaret Hubel to the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hubel, of Chaska, February 26, 1897. She attended the St. John Lutheran School.

On October 25, 1917, she was married to Mr. Harry Heitkamp in Chaska, and the couple moved to Dahlgren Township.

Surviving are her husband; four children, Mrs. Arthur Kopecky of Chaska, Mrs. Lester Kopecky of St. Paul, and Miss Leila Heitkamp and Mr. Dale Heitkamp of Dahlgren; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred G. Magnuson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Russell Lundquist and Mrs. Alfred Jahn of Chaska.

Reverend O. A. Soeldner officiated during the funeral services.

Miss Arna Fandrey played the piano and the choir sang. Before the services, the remains of Mrs. Heitkamp lay in state at the Akeson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Henry Lenzen, of Chaska; Ernest Lenzen, Vincent Santache, Martin Hurtig, and Oscar Wallace of Carver; and Clifford Harms, of Cologne.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Blume, Mrs. Fred Blume, and Otto Heitkamp, of Belle Plaine; Mr. and Mrs. August Glovatzka, of Austin; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mueller, Mrs. Otto Marose, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Carlson and son, Earl, and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Rouster, of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chalupsky, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Rimer, and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Matthews, of St. Paul; Robert E. Riddell, of Robinsdale; and Mrs. J. A. Tschida, of White Bear Lake.
