She was born April 3, 1965, to Dietmar and Anne Boenisch in Inglewood, Calif. She moved to Newberg in 1974. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1983.
She attended the University of Washington, graduating in 1987. She traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and South America, spending a year as an undergraduate student in Vienna and a year as a Rotary International Foundation Graduate Scholar in Madurai, India.
She worked from 1991 to 2002 in public relations and held the position of vice-president for KVO Public Relations.
In 1991, she married David Plotkin at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Portland. She worked from home, volunteered in her children's schools and with Children First For Oregon.
Survivors include: husband David of Newberg; son Simon Plotkin of Portland; daughters, Sophia and Helen Plotkin of Portland; mother Anne Boenisch of Newberg and brother Christian Boenisch of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her father Dietmar Boenisch and sister Sigrid Boenisch.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Clare Catholic Church in Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation in care of Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel, 207 Villa Road, Newberg OR 97132.
