Theresia Fuchs was born on May 29, 1851, in Böhmenkirch (Wurttemberg), Germany, the seventh and youngest child of Johann & Katharina (Frei) Fuchs.

At the age of 35, Theresia became the second wife of Jakob Knoblauch, who was born December 19, 1854, in Böhmenkirch. Jakob had lost his first wife as well as two of his three sons within a four-year span of time and was left to raise his one remaining son, Wilhelm Heinrich (Henry) Knoblauch. Theresia and Jakob were married on July 19, 1886, in Böhmenkirch, and Theresia brought her seven year old daughter, Genovefa Fuchs, to join this family. This is when Genovefa assumed the name Knoblauch.

Early in 1887, Jakob and Theresia prepared to leave their German homeland to immigrate to America. They boarded the ship Rhynland and left the port of Antwerp, Belgium, arriving in New York on February 24, 1887. Their final destination was listed as Bay City, Michigan. The ship's passenger list records Jakob as being 32 years old with an occupation as a miner. His wife, Theresia, is listed as 35 years old, and Genovefa and Heinrich are listed as being 8 years and 3.5 years respectively.

While living in Michigan, Theresia and Jakob had two sons: Joseph was born in May of 1887 and Otto was born December 21, 1889. The Knoblauch family lived in Bay City and Saginaw, Michigan, until 1895 when they moved to Fairfax (Renville County), Minnesota, joining other members of the Fuchs family. One of Theresia's older sisters, Katharina (Fuchs), and her husband Bernard Kolb had five sons; following Katharina's death in 1883, Bernard and his sons immigrated to America, settling in Fairfax, Minnesota.

After moving to Fairfax, Minnesota, Joseph Knoblauch suffered a fatal epileptic seizure at the age of 18 and died on December 29, 1903. He was buried in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Fairfax. Together with his son, Heinrich "Henry" and Henry's wife, Frances, Jakob and Theresia farmed in the Fairfax area until 1910 when they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Otto Herman Knoblauch married Theresa Margaret Mollner on August 26, 1912, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were the parents of two children: Kolette and Germaine Knoblauch.

In June of 1914, Theresia became ill and was admitted to West Side General Hospital in St. Paul. She underwent surgery for appendicitis on June 8, but died the morning of June 11, 1914. Her remains arrived by train in Fairfax, Minnesota, where she was buried next to her son, Joseph, in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Theresia was 63 when she passed away. Her obituary in the Fairfax Standard mentioned that her husband and two sons (Henry and Otto) were present at the funeral, but a daughter, unnamed, did not attend. Theresia's daughter, Jennie, was married, living in Illinois, and had small children at the time, which most likely was the reason she did not make the trip to Minnesota to attend her mother's funeral.

At the age of 70, Jakob returned to his German homeland in late 1924. While there, he became ill and died from uremic poisoning on May 25, 1925, at a hospital in Geislingen … just south of where he was born in Böhmenkirch. He was buried in Germany, even though an empty plot in St. Andrew's Cemetery was purchased for him where he was to have been laid to rest alongside his wife, Theresia.
