William Phillip Niemann III, 40, of Burlington, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, on Thursday evening, May 17, 2012.

Born on July 17, 1971 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of William Phillip and Sally Ann Lambert Niemann Jr. On April 14, 2001 he married Renee Pease Krippene in Newport News, VA.

William served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an HVAC & Highway Technician on the East Coast. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed wrestling, hunting, fishing, golfing, collecting and watching bald eagles and was a fan of the New York Giants.

He is survived by his wife, Renee; one son, Maxwell Alan Niemann of Burlington; one daughter, Cherokee Marie Niemann of Burlington; one step-daughter, Alexia Michelle Krippene of Arizona; his parents, William P. and Sally Niemann Jr.; two brothers, Richard & Gordon both of Illinois; seven sisters, Chrysti of Virginia, Leslie of Oklahoma, Christa of Burlington, Stacie & Ginger of Texas, Tiffany & Rosalee of Illinois; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonnie & Harley Lambert, William P. and Avis Mae Niemann Sr.

Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
