Funeral services for Mrs. Hallie Benningfield, 41 years of age, were held Tuesday afternoon, July 4 at 3 o'clock at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. D. L. Druien in charge. Burial was in the Muldraugh Hill cemetery. Mrs. Benningfield, born Miss Hallie Green Short, died July 1 at her home in the Pleasant Hill section. She professed faith eight years ago and joined the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Ed Benningfield in 1921. Surviving are her husband, mother, Mrs. Virgie Short, county, and five brothers and three sisters: Forest Short, of Cumberland, Ind., Leonard Short and John Short, New Palestine, Ind., Tom Short, U. S. Army at Fort Bragg, N.C., Mrs. Edgar Hunt, Fountaintown, Ind., Mrs. Nolan Morris, Greenfield, Ind., and Miss Naomi Short, Campbellsville, and a half-sister, Mrs. Stella Polley, Greenfield, Ind. Pallbearers were: Wayne Kessler, Clay Marcum, Henry Kessler, John Taylor, Murrell Hazard, and Stanley Skaggs. Flowerbearers were: Lottie Phillips, Sallie Deener, Arabell O'Banion, Cortense Kessler, Mrs. S. V. Kessler, and Mrs. Jim Railey Richerson.
