Mrs. Helen M. Topham, 66, of Tiburon, died today at a local hospital following a 6 week illness.

A conservationist, she was a member of the Sierra Club, the Marin Audubon Society, and particularly active in the Belvedere Tiburon Landmark Society.

For the last 6 months, she worked as a volunteer at the Mill Valley Library.

Mrs. Topham was born in San Francisco and lived in California all her life. She moved to Tiburon 11 years ago, residing at 600 Ridge Road.

She is survived by her husband, Wellman H. Topham, retired general treasury supervisor for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. in San Francisco.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Richard W. Topham of Mill Valley and George L. Topham of San Francisco; a sister, Constance J. Kammerer, of Truckee; a brother, George G. Kammerer of Aptos; and one granddaughter.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael. Private burial will be in Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery.
