WILDWOOD — Laura J. Wetjen, 81, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Shell Lake, WI.

Mrs. Wetjen was born on April 21, 1931, in Danbury, CT, to her parents Samuel and Marguerite Bailey. She moved to Wildwood 29 years ago from Mukwonago, WI, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood.

She was a former registered nurse working for The Visiting Nurses Association and at Nursing Homes in Minnesota.

She is survived by her son, John B. Wetjen, Stacy, MN; her daughter, Lynda Cain, Shell Lake; two sisters Virginia Bailey-Brown, Amherst, MA, and Barbara Romeika, Deer Park, NY; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

Arrangements are entrusted to Banks/Page-Theus Funerals and Cremations, Wildwood.

Mrs. Wetjen was born on April 21, 1931 in Danbury, Connecticut to her parents Samuel and Marguerite Bailey. She moved to Wildwood, Florida 29 years ago from Mukwonago, Wisconsin and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood, Florida. She was a former Registered Nurse working for The Visiting Nurses Association and at Nursing Homes in Minnesota.

She is survived by her son John B. (Doris) Wetjen of Stacy, Minnesota; her daughter Lynda (Charles) Cain of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; two sisters: Virginia Bailey-Brown of Amherst, Massachusetts and Barbara Romeika of Deer Park, New York; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Wetjen and daughter Laura Diane Wetjen.
