Mildred M. Rein, 89, died Jan. 15 at Wesley Tower, Ralph Thorne Center, in Hutchinson. She was born July 13, 1912, in McCracken, the daughter of Owen and Jane McCormick McKittrick.
She married Edward Rein June 3, 1934, in
McCracken. He died July 30, 1962. A lifelong resident of McCracken, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Rein was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Alumni Association and Golden Agers Senior Center, all of McCracken.
Survivors include one son, Jim Rein of Buhler; three daughters, Phyllis Higgins of McCracken, Sheryl McCaskey of Great Bend and Maddy Petz of Buhler; one sister, Winifred Gaschler of Salina; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Donny Rein and Danny Rein; one brother, Pat McKittrick; three sisters, Rose Reiss, Elizabeth Gaschler and Dorothy Smith; and one granddaughter, Brenda Peters.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Benjamin Martin officiating. Burial will be at McCracken Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Heritage, Wesley Towers, Ralph Thorne Center or Golden Agers of McCracken, all in care of the Fitzgerald Funeral Home Ness City, Kansas.
