Memorial services for Mabel Stalling age 88 of Wisner, NE will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with interment in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church.
Mabel passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center.
Mabel was born December 1, 1923 on a farm east of Wisner to John and Johanna (Bering) Stalling, immigrants from Germany. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church at Beemer and later confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Mabel attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #7 through the eighth grade and graduated from Wisner High School in 1942. Following graduation from high school, Mabel attended business school in Omaha and was employed at AY McDonald for the next several years. Following the death of her father in 1956, Mabel moved back to Wisner to reside with her mother on the family farm, where she raised cattle and hogs. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Albers Feedlots for 20 years. Mabel was also employed part-time as a CNA at Colonial Haven Nursing Home and in the cafeteria at IBP in West Point, NE. Mabel enjoyed traveling and went on several trips to Germany with her mother. She was a member at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, and belonged to their quilting group.
Mabel passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center, where she had resided for the past two months due to failing health.
