Eugenio, a native of Truchas and resident of Española (El Llano), was predeceased by his parents Francisco "Frank" Rodriguez and Maria Nicolasa Devari Cordova; wife Fidelia Duran Rodriguez; and son Jerry E. Rodriguez; brothers: Candido Alberto "Albert", Jose Porfirio, Jose Florencio (in infancy), and Samuel Rodriguez; sisters: Maria Florencia (in infancy), Serafina (in infancy), and Maria Ermelinda Martinez; and in-laws Benito and Juanita Duran of Española.

Eugenio was survived by his daughters: Ruby Medina (husband Joseph Dale) of Fairview and Rebecca Duran (Chris Rodriguez) of Fairview; son Henry Rodriguez (wife Frances) of Fairview, who gave him great tender care and love during this stage in his life. Eugenio was very proud of his grandchildren: Melissa Dunlap (husband Larry) of Mississippi, Jennifer Espinoza (husband James) of Chimayo, Adrian Duran and Antonia Trujillo of Alcalde, Deanna Mangum of Las Vegas, Nevada; Desirae J. Medina (Ty Lujan) of Alcalde, Deondra Rodriguez (David Maes) of Fairview, Gina Williams (husband Derell) of Albuquerque, Raquel Rodriguez of Dallas, Texas; Alfred Duran of Fairview, Joseph I. and Matthew Medina of Fairview, Rico Rodriguez of Fairview; 11 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Freddie Duran of Española; sisters: Alice Wheeler (husband Tony) of Española, Andrietta Romero of Española, Ida Trujillo (husband Ernest) of Fairview; sisters-in-law, Eloisa Rodriguez of Española and other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Vista Care Hospice and niece Florence who brightened his last days every time she walked into the room. He will continue to be loved and dearly missed.

Eugenio proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed at the zinc/uranium mines in Leadville, Colorado and Grants, New Mexico. He was also employed with the ZIA Co. and JCI in Los Alamos. He was a strong, loving, fearless and hard-working man that strived to keep his family well taken care of. He was an intelligent man who loved to tell stories of his life experiences.

Public visitation and a Devotional Service were on June 4, 2012 at El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos. Funeral service was on June 5, 2012 also at El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos. Interment was at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
