Michael Josef Bliss of Collierville, Tennessee, died Monday in Germantown, Tennessee. He was 42. He was born on April 18, 1957 in Fort Lee, Virginia, the son of William R. and Rosa Seeholtzer Bliss.

He was a 1975 graduate of Shawnee High School. He married Susan Godfrey and worked as an area adviser for Auto Zone in Collierville, Tennessee.

Bliss was a member of the Patterson Lake Baptist Church where he taught third and fourth-grade Sunday school. He was also a member of the National Corvette Club.

Survivors include his wife, Susan, of the home, three sons, Joey Bliss of Oklahoma City, Chris Sehorn of Shawnee and Jeff Sehorn of Collierville, Tennessee, three daughters, Bridgett Bliss of Ada, Julie Bliss of Oklahoma City and Summer Bliss of Collierville, Tennessee, his parents, William R. and Rose Bliss of Shawnee, a brother, Doug Bliss of Shawnee and a sister, Barbara Walck of Shawnee.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Lyle Asbill officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
