Marlin L. Bicker, 76, of Baileyville died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at UW Hospital in Madison, Wis. He was born on Oct. 15, 1934, in Stephenson County, the son of Orval and Ferne (Bremmer) Bicker.
Marlin married DeLores M. Kampen on March 21, 1954, in Forreston.

He was a member of Bethel U.M.C. in Shannon for over 60 years, where he served on the church committees; a past president of the Ogle County Pork Producers; and a member of the Shannon School Board. Marlin enjoyed driving his tractor.

Marlin is survived by his wife, DeLores; his daughter, Deb (Dave) Foust of Pearl City; brother-in-law, Paul Kampen of Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Bicker of Freeport; five grandchildren, David Foust of Texas, Justin (Crissy) Foust of Florida, Jared (Kari) Bicker of Michigan, Jennifer (Michael) Nolte of Indiana, and KaLena Foust of Pearl City; and five great-grandchildren, Evie, Corinne, Wyatt, Meya, and Paige.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Craig Bicker; and two brothers, Lowell and Richard Bicker.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Bethel U.M.C. in Shannon, with the Rev. Steve Aram officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, and also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A private family burial will take place after the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
