Phyllis M. Coburn, 72, died at 4:09 p.m. June 5, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Alger to Burdett "Red" and Grace Patton Orders, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 26, 1961, she married J.B. Coburn, who died Feb. 5, 2005.

Mrs. Coburn retired in 2002 as a lining sewer from Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada, after 32 years. She attended McGuffey Church of Christ, McGuffey. She had been an EMT for the Upper Scioto Valley Rescue Squad for 30 years. She had been a Cub Scout leader for several years for the Alger troop and served on the executive board for the Black Swamp Council. She was a member of the Alger Memorial Day Festival Committee and the Royal Neighbors. She had served as mayor of Alger.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Coburn, of Mount Cory, and Mark (Jolette) Coburn, of Alger; a daughter, Regina (Bill) Vogt, of Forest; a sister, Carol May Orders of Lakeview; a half sister, Pamela King, of Delphos; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Coburn; and a half sister, Beth Ann Orders.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Pastor David Trusty will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
