John Charles Johnson was born on May 20, 1858, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Samuel R. M. and Mary Jane "Mollie" (Caldwell) Johnson. On Jan 7, 1877, he married Matilda Arminta Morris in DeKalb Co., Missouri, and they had two children together, Cora Belle and Rosella. Matilda Arminta passed away in 1881. He later married Sibyl Hannah Wheatley in Holton, Kansas, on Oct 1, 1884. They were the parents of a daughter, Mary Gertrude. On Feb 5, 1891, John married Albertha Mary Disney in Haip City, Ellis Co., Kansas, and they had three children together, Juanita Mildred, Willard Allen and Wallace Milton. John died on August 22, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 84, and was buried there. He was survived by his wife and four of his children.
