Julia Kathleen Smitherman, 90, of Franklin, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Houston, Texas. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Franklin Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin, Texas.

Julia was born in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas, to the late Albert Sidney and Ruby Olivia Whittington Browning. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and married Louie Smitherman on March 1, 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; daughters, Carol Cream and Melanie Ross Hanson; grandsons, Clifton Cream and Bill Cream; and brother, Bryan Browning.

She is survived by daughters, Sheila Krenek and husband, Clarence, of Buffalo, Sharon Renneberg and husband, Hal, of Conroe, Judy Wilfer and husband, James, of Conroe, Dana McCoy and husband, Jeff, of Conroe, Lorie Dickson and husband, David, of Franklin, and Jill Rose and husband, Dan, of Houston; son, John Smitherman and wife, Jan, of Spring; 24 grandchildren; sisters, Norma Bruce, of Bryan, and Ruth Rhodes and husband, Coleman, of Franklin; sister-in-law, Katie Browning, of Bryan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
