Carl A Kunze, 85, of Arpin, died Wednesday, Dec 17, 2008, at Bethel Center, Arpin, WI.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at Dec 20 at St. James Catholic Church in Vesper.

Carl was born Mar 29, 1923, in Jamestown, ND, to Carl and Nellie (Smull) Kunze.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. He married Lorraine Ida Mathewson on Mar 21, 1947, in Bridgeport, CT. He and his wife farmed in the town of Carson until retirement. They then moved to Arpin.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Arpin; and a son, Carl R. (Diane) Kunze, Arpin. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Robert (Angie) Kunze, Madison, Rhonda (Brad) Vilbaum, Wisconsin Rapids, and Rachelle Kunze, Arpin; and three great-grandchildren, Trevor and Tyson Vilbaum and Ellianna Kunze.

He is further survived by five sisters, Myrtle Krayler, Jamestown, ND, Muriel Dassinger, Dickinson, ND, Marcella (James) Koch, Bismarck, ND, Elizabeth Kunze, Grand Rapids, MI, and Margaret Biddle, Palatine, IL.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
