William Odious Vollmar, son of the late Frank and Molly Vollmar, was born March 14, 1883 at Raymondville and died at his home in Raymondville November 20, 1956. His age at time of death was 73 years, 8 months, and 6 days.

He joined the Methodist Church when he was 17 years old.

Odious was united in marriage to Hester Martin Oct. 25, 1909 and to this union six children were born.

He is survived by his wife Hester; four daughters, Gladys Peterson, Audrey Smith and Vera Hassell, all of St. Louis and Bernice Vollmar of the home; two sons, Wayne Vollmar of St. Louis and Andy Vollmar of Houston; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dewey of Burbank, Calif., and Ernest of Raymondville; 3 sisters, Laura Vollmar of Raymondville, Mollie Barnes of Licking, and Tennie Hummel of St. Louis; also one aunt, Sophia Bullock of Kansas City, MO. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He leaves many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, November 24 at Raymondville Methodist Church with Mrs. Sadie Miles officiating. Burial was in the Vollmar Cemetery under the direction of Elliott of Houston.
