Fred Sy Sheboygan Press October 16, 1967

Fred W. Sy, 84, a town of Eaton farmer, died Sunday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, where he had been a patient six days. Born Sept. 9, 1883 in the town of Eaton, he was a son of the late William and Bertha Schultz Sy. He attended district schools in the township and on Oct. 14, 1908 married Lillie Wagner at Hayton. The couple farmed the Sy homestead in the Town of Eaton. Mr. Sy served on the District 3 school board in the town of Eaton for 20 years. He was a director and manager of the Valders Telephone Co. for 37 years and also was a member of the Guernsey Breeders Association of Manitowoc County.
Survivors include this wife; one son, Ernst of R. 1 Valders; one daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Ethel Thiessen of New Holstein, and five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Two sons, and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ, New Holstein, the Rev. Charles Koch, pastor officiating.
