Fred was born to August Gehrke and Elizabeth Bergau in Konigsberg, Germany which was renamed in 1949, Kalininggrad, part of the Russian Federation. He married Augusta Tichelmann. They resided in Salt Lake at 1091 South 700 East at the time of his passing at their homel, June 2nd 1953 at the age of 61. Augusta survided him but passed away in 1955.. They are both buried in the Salt Lake City, Cemetery.
