WILLIAM D. HOOVER IS DEAD AT DENVER.- Former Akronite Buried In Colorado; Was Western Linoleum Co. Founder.-

Akron friends of William D. Hoover, 72, Tuesday had been notified of his death Oct. 23 at Denver, Col., where he had made his home for many years. Mr. Hoover was a former Akronite and founder of the Western Linoleum Co. here in 1891.

Funeral services and burial for Mr. Hoover were conducted last Friday at Denver. He leaves his widow, Elizabeth Hunt Hoover; a son, Edwin H. Hoover; a brother, George A. Hoover, of Wyandotte, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Ester H. Linderholm, of Monte Vista, Col.

Mr. Hover was well known among early residents of the city when he resided here on Adolph ave. Since leaving Akron he was a frequent visitor here.

He was born at Miamisburg, Ohio, December 18, 1862. He came to Akron in 1891 where he remained until he went to Colorado in 1897 and became interested in mining. In 1901 he promoted and built the Eaton and Windsor Col., factories now operated by the Great Western Sugar Co.

Mr. Hoover was regarded a pioneer builder of Colorado's sugar industry and a nationally recognized authority on beet growing in the west. He became ill Oct. 14 and died Oct. 23 at Lamb hospital.
