According to a 1930's WPA canvass of Old Montezuma cemetery, Parke Co. IN, John was recorded buried here with his mother (who also died in Indianapolis); complete with inscription.

However this may be a Cenotaph as his death certificate reports burial in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, with his wife Louisa Wiley. No headstone (which seems odd given his status). His death notice says his remains were being held for 2 weeks and doesn't report burial place. Note: The death certificate was filed 2 Feb 1926 with burial planned to be in Crown Hill with date "not known", then date "not known" was changed to 18 Feb 1926, leaving question as to whether they changed their mind about burial place given the 19 day delay in burial.
