WAS GRANDSON OF MOLLIE PITCHER
FREDERICK HAYS, AGED AND RESPECTED BRICKMAKER, DEAD AT CARLISLE
Carlisle, June 28 -- Last evening about 7 o'clock Fredrick Hays, the last of the grandchildren of Mollie Pitcher, of Revolutionary fame, died at his home on East South street, this place, at the age of eighty-two years. Death was due to the infirmities of advanced age.
Mr Hays was born in Carlisle and resided here the greater part of his life, following the occupation of a brick maker. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Cumberland Fire Company and a very highly respected citizen.
His wife, Mrs Elizabeth Hays, and three children, Mrs John B Martin, Miss Ada and Herman, all of this place, survive.
The funeral will be held from his late home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in the old graveyard.
