Mr. Workman was born Dec. 26, 1916 in Villard, Minn., to George and Nancy (Brewster) Workman. The family moved to Rice Lake when Mr. Workman was a teen-ager, and he graduated from Rice Lake High School. He worked on the home farm until 1941, when he was drafted into the military and served in WW II.
Mr. Workman married Marion Beranek on June 22, 1946 at Rice Lake. They rented a farm near Poskin for about 5 years before purchasing the home farm near Prairie Farm in 1951.
He enjoyed reading westerns, helping his neighbor on the farm and watching sporting events on television. Mr. Workman also enjoyed social events like county fairs, Farmers Union gatherings and the dairy breakfast.
He was on the AMPI board and many committees of Foursquare Gospel Church of which he was a member for more than 56 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; three sons, Richard (Janet) and Ted (Jean), both of Barron and Jeff of Hillsdale; two daughters, Suzanne (Dennis)Sandmann of Barron and Nancy (Bill) Elliott of Salado, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth (Lois)of Barron and Densmore (Freida)of Villard; and a sister, Blanche (Homer)Berry of Lillian, Ala.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Homer, brothers, Blois and Adrian; and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Barrett.
Funeral services were Monday morning at Foursquare Gospel Church in Barron, with the Rev. Janet Espeseth officiating and burial in Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
