Bessie M. Kindler, 83, of Valparaiso, formerly of Gary, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Porter Hospital.
She was born December 16, 1928 in Crofton, Kentucky to Henry Walter & Jeanetta J. (Majors) Alexander.
Bessie had owned and operated grocery stores in Griffith and Hobart for many years with her husband, Ovll J. Willis.
Survivors include her children: Kenneth (Darla) Willis of Gary, Darlene (Dennis) Flores of Mooresville, North Carolina, Felicia Lee of Texas, 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Kindler, Sr. in 2008, daughter, Rita McUne and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Friday, 10:30 am at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 4 – 8 pm.
