NESS CITY — Leah Schneidewind, 91, died Sept. 12 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. She was born June 7, 1913, at Olmitz, the daughter of Peter and Mary Schneider Wittig. She married Henry Schneidewind Aug. 9, 1938, at Great Bend. He died Feb. 4, 1990. A resident of Ness County since 1936, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Harold Schneidewind of Great Bend; two daughters, Gloria Vogel of Hays and Sharon Werth of Ness City; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Bazine, with the Rev. James D. Webster officiating. Burial will be at Bazine Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Bazine or Trinity Lutheran Church Bell Ringing Fund in Great Bend, both in care of the funeral home.
