Obituary: John Martin Carattini, April 13, 1934 -- Sept. 26, 2002, 68, of Modesto died of natural causes Thursday at Emanuel Medical Center, Turlock. Mr. Carattini was a native of Jersey City, N.J. He lived in Modesto 26 years. He was a self-employed printer. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Modesto 1st Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Dency Carattini of Modesto; children, Kay Ann Carattini Brown of San Jose, John Phillip Carattini of Modesto, Michael Cardon Carattini of Simi Valley and David Paul Carattini of Layton, Utah; brothers, Henry Carattini of Smithtown, N.Y., and Michael Carattini of Jersey City; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dale Road Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Private burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements.
