Wedding: Melitta Hanske to Edmund J. Arps
Today, (Thursday) at 12 o'clock noon, in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hanske, the marriage of their daughter Melitta to Mr. Edmund J. Arps of Chilton, will take place. Pastor Wm Rech will perform the wedding and the attendants will be Carl Hanske, Irma Heins, Robert Heiner and Adele Arps. After the ceremony friends and relatives will be invited to an opulent wedding dinner. The young couple will make a honeymoon to a summer resort in Donaldson, Wisconsin and after their return will take up residence in Chilton where Mr. Arps has a gentlemen's clothing business.

Melitta Ann Arps, 96, of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1990, at Mercy Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1894, in Kiel, Wis., the daughter of Emil and Helene Griebenow Hanske. Melitta married Edmund J. Arps in September 1916 in Kiel. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1970.. Mrs. Arps has resided in Oshkosh since 1933.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, the Women's Fellowship of the church, the Twentieth Century Club, Charity Circle, Ladies Benevolent Society and Oriental Chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one niece, Melitta (Steven) Payne; two grandnephews, Matthew and Jonathan, and two grandnieces, Elizabeth and Laura Payne, all of Indianapolis, Ind. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels-Eagle Street with the Rev. Carol DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of the services at the Seefeld Eagle Street Chapel. A memorial has been established.
