Funeral service for Alice Lucille Konermann, 70 of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Harley Davidson, minister of Western Hills Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alice was born on May 30, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana to Edwin and Selma (Partenheimer) Merkel. She grew up in Evansville where she graduated from Memorial High School. She married James Konermann on June 30, 1962. She and James owned and operated a local hobby and games business for several years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carrie and Jeff Markham, of Lawton; two sons and daughters in law, Jim and Kim Konermann of Lawton and Chad and Ashley Konermann, of Burkburnet, Texas her brothers, Roger Merkel, Dwight Merkel and Quinton Merkel and Greg Merkel; her sisters, Roxanne Herode and Loretta Carter; seven grandchildren, Jimmy, Emily, Alden, Jake, Grace, Lilly and Lane; and one great granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James and her parents.
